Blind woman (2000)

Drawing (charcoal on paper); 36" x 24"

This model, as the title suggests, was blind and brought her friendly seeing-eye dog with her to the classroom studio each time. Although my instructor wasn't crazy about the composition (particularly the abyss in the upper lefthand quadrant), everyone else seems to like it. The positioning of her limbs is the most striking aspect. My friend Chris liked it so much, I gave it to him. Although I don't recall ever seeing it displayed in his residence. I'll have to talk to him about that.

UPDATE: Chris's paranoid mother located this piece in his closet and destroyed it on the assumption that it constituted pornography. Sad but true, that.
