we have my first attempt at using paint on canvas. I had
only done drawing in college and therefore was intimidated
by paint when I first began. I was buoyed by what someone
once told me -- "If you can draw, you can paint."
Easier said than done, as you can see here. An admirable
first attempt, you might say. Heck, I was proud of it when
I finished, that is until the instructor said the only part
he liked were the shadows of the sticks against the backdrop.
Well, it's not MY fault the still life was about as aesthetically
pleasing as a hole in the ground. Sheesh. You have to start
somewhere, I suppose. I've done worse. |
