Outstrip (2009)

Painting (acrylic on canvas); 20" x 16"

Lacking in originality as I age, I once harvest projects of yore, this time a drawing I had made as an undergraduate. I had been meaning to translate the original piece into a painting for some time anyway, as this represented one of my favorite, and heavily "designed," works Whereas I get increasibly bored by excessive pre-planning the older I get, this piece -- which retroactively symbolizes outstripping of natural resources, if I may be permitted pretentiousness -- could not have been done any other way. Given to my Uncle Dalton and Aunt Sharon on Christmas 2009.
